The U.S. Navy destroyer escort USS Eldridge was claimed to have been rendered invisible (or “cloaked”) to enemy devices.

The Philadelphia Experiment is a mythological story of an alleged military experiment. Different versions of the alleged experiment have circulated over the years.

As defined by the Skeptic's Dictionary(1): “According to legend, the destroyer USS Eldridge was made invisible, dematerialized, and teleported from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Norfolk, Virginia, and back again to the Philadelphia Naval Yard.”

The Navy denies there was such a project. There is no conclusive proof there was a successful “Philadelphia Experiment.”
